Hi everyone
Change of plans - got the best ever site at Sea Vu Robe with the beach right next to us so I can just wander down and throw a line in anytime! Pt Lincoln will have to wait - best places booked out already plus would have to spend heaps on 4WD to get it ready (sand flag, compressor, UHF, bullbar, racks etc)
Happy hollering!!

As reported in the local newspaper "The Standard", the tuna are in close and are biting! I went out Sunday and Monday, approx. 25kms out from Port Fairy, one of the crew fought with a monster tuna, after a 2 3/4hr fight and many runs, he broke the line and made his break for freedom. Although we were able to get him close to the boat a couple of times, this fish was estimated by our seasoned skipper to be well over 140kgs and at least 7ft long.
I have never seen anything like it before, it was such an adrenaline rush and being the "gaff man" I was able to see this monster up close.
The seas were so calm, almost like glass, and the feeding frenzy of the birds and seals was a spectacle itself to watch.
I highly recommend going out if you get the chance to, for me, this chance doesn't come very often and I would like to thank the skipper of this boat and fellow crew for inviting me along.
